Even those who are conscious of “not leaving food behind” may never have thought about
“not wasting leftover fabric” when making clothes or bags.

Fabrics are routinely cut, left over, and discarded for the sake of design. We want to reduce that waste. That’s why The Container Shop was created. Our bags, designed to fit the width of the fabric, leave nothing behind.

A bag sized just right for the fabric. A shoulder strap cut to just the right length. These dimensions may differ slightly from ordinary bags, but we believe that uniqueness is what sets them apart. We continue to create bags that are gentle on both people and materials.

01

LOW WASTE

In order to reduce waste as much as possible when making bags, we design bags that are just the right size to be made without waste, based on the size of the fabric. The only waste generated in making one bag is the ends of the fabric and a piece of fabric less than 1cm in size that is used to make a hole. The size of our bags, which is not often found in ready-made products, is also connected to our individuality.

02

FROM FACTORY

We utilize the ideas that only a factory that handles materials directly can have in our bag making. We reuse leather cut out for handles to make tags, and use industrial materials for the bag fabric. We pack our bags with ideas that only a maker would notice.

03

EFFICIENT

In order to reduce waste as much as possible when making bags, we design bags that are just the right size to be made without waste, based on the size of the fabric.
04

VARIETY

We place great importance on making the most of the materials, and as a result, we are able to create a wide variety of bags, which is one of our characteristics. The size of the bag is determined by the size of the leather and the width of the fabric, so we have created a series of bags in a variety of shapes, sizes, and lengths.
